In Memory

I'll lend you for a little while
My grandest foal, He said.
For you to love while she's alive
And mourn for when she's dead.

It may be one or twenty years,
Or days or months, you see.
But, will you, till I take her back
Take care of her for me?

She'll bring her charms to gladden you,
And should her stay be brief
 You'll have treasured memories
 As solace for your grief.

I cannot promise she will stay,
 Since all from earth return.
But, there are lessons taught on earth
I want this foal to learn.

I've looked the wide world over
In my search for teachers true.
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
With trust I have selected you.

Now will you give her your total love?
 Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate Me when I come
 To take her back again?

I know you'll give her tenderness
And love will bloom each day.
And for the happiness you've known
 Forever grateful stay.

But should I come and call for her
 Much sooner than you'd planned
You'll brave the bitter grief that comes
 And someday you'll understand.

WHEN TOMORROW STARTS WITHOUT ME

When tomorrow starts without me And I'm not there to see,
If the sun
should rise and find your eyes All filled with tears for me,
I wish so much you
wouldn't cry The way you did today,
While thinking of the many times We did get to play.
I know how much you love me As much as I love you,
And each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too.  But when tomorrow starts without me,
Please don't be in awe
That an angel came and called my name And took me by the hoof,
And said my place was
ready In heaven far above And that I'd have to leave behind All those I dearly love
But when
I pranced through heaven's gates I felt so much at home
When God looked down and smiled
at me From his great golden throne.
He said"This is eternity And all I've promised you"
Today
for life on earth is past But here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow For today will always
last And since each day's the same way,
There's no longing for the past,
So when tomorrow
starts without me,
Don't think we're far apart For every time you think of me,
I'm right here
In Your Heart...........

A Million White Horses
Don't cry for the horses that life has set free
A million white horses forever to be
Don't cry for the horses now in God's hand
As they dance and they prance in a heavenly band

They were ours as a gift but never to keep
As they close their eyes, forever to sleep
Their spirits unbound, on silver wings they fly
A million white horses, against the blue sky

Look up into heaven, you'll see them above
The horses we lost, the horses we loved
Manes and tails flowing, they gallop through time
They were never yours, they were never mine

Don't cry for the horses, they'll be back someday
When our time has come, they will show you the way
Do you hear that soft nicker, close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses, love the one's that are here.
